Discover Morocco
Take ferry to Morocco and discover an
ethnically diverse country with a rich
culture and civilization. It is located on
the westernmost tip of North Africa,
bordering Algeria to the east and Mauritania
to the south and southeast, the Atlantic
Ocean to the west and the Mediterranean to
the north. Running through the middle of the
country is the Atlas mountain range, which
lead to the fertile plains and sandy beaches
of the Atlantic coast.
The climate throughout the country is hot
and dry but does have some regional
variations. The coastal area most closely
resembles a Mediterranean climate with
inland areas being hotter and drier. Rain
falls almost exclusively in November to
March and is most prevalent in the coastal
areas. Throughout the country the winters
are hot but with cool nights.
Travel in Morocco
The Moroccan rail system, run by Office
National des Chemins de Fer, provides
regular and cheap services. The major
Moroccan roads are all good quality
highways, particularly those running between
the major cities in the north. The quality
deteriorates as you head inland and
especially across the Atlas Mountains in
winter which can become tricky to cross.

Things to see
Casablanca is a thriving commercial centre,
but also has plenty of tourist attractions
with its whitewashed old-town and faded
Moroccan art deco glories. Tangier is a
popular port of arrival for tourists taking
a ferry crossing from Spain or Gibraltar. |
